Interpersonal Communication and Technology
Interpersonal communication is the communication between people. We all communicate with each other, every one of us in his own characteristic way. Interpersonal communication means communicating formal, informal, verbal and non verbally. Verbal communication refers to oral , spoken communication we all know. Written communication enters also in this category. People still write letters, notes, or send emails. Technology intervenes in any type of communication because technology makes communication develop much quicker.
Non verbal communication refers to body language. When communicating, people send certain messages through their body movements, gestures, posture, and face expression. Communication is a two way process that needs a sender a receiver and a message. In order to have a good communication we need to send clearly the message. Informal communication is the language we use daily, among friends and colleagues. Informal doesn’t need rules and it’s not strict. Formal communication is generally used at office, at meetings, at social events etc.
Interpersonal Communication and Technology are linked together by the simple reason that technology facilitates communication ways. Technology means cell phones, computers, internet etc. Communication has increased a lot since technology has developed. Nowadays people talk very much on the phone, internet is an endless source of knowledge and people like to talk online, on chat rooms. The internet allows you to get to know people from all over the world, online, in a virtual world. Technology has made communication possible at a global level.
Interpersonal Communication can be sustained also on the phone. Since technology is so developed, we can talk on the phone and in the same time see the other person through the 3g option. Interpersonal communication can be developed online also through web camera. There are many ways in which we an communicate, we just have to want it. Some people are more shy, others are deaf or blind, but they still find ways to communicate. For people with hearing and seeing problems , there was invented a special language through sings. You see, communication is the base element in leading a normal life.
Technology has made possible many things. Interpersonal Communication and Technology support each other. Communication is needed in big companies more than experience is requested. Why? Because people with great communication skills know how to talk to a client, know how to act and behave in order to close deals and make the company win. Interpersonal communication is more important than technology communication, because we deal with people all the time, not with machineries. Technology instead, helps us achieve something on short notice.
In the end, communication is crucial in our society. Technology develops more and more every year. With each item released we are headed to a more bright future. Technology and communication in a few years are going to blow your minds. Technology revolutions any society, if today we are full of electronics, imagine in a century, what’s going to come of our world.
